LINDY HOP SUMMER SAMPLER & SOCIAL
Learn how to dance Lindy Hop with a two hour introductory workshop for beginners followed by a one hour social dance where you can practice and enjoy the dance. Our goal is to have you ready to social dance by the end of the lesson so you can join in the fun. This is a great way to try Lindy Hop before joining a progressive lesson series. No experience needed, no partner required.

SUMMER WORKSHOP 1: INDIVIDUAL GOALS AND PRIVATE LESSONS
In this workshop we offer 20 min private lessons with your choice of instructor: Jean Boyle, Mark Gesing, and Margot Smith. The purpose of this workshop is to allow dancers an opportunity to receive individual instruction and feedback on the dance topic they are most interested in, so you can develop your dancing in the way you want. The rest of the time will be open practice time to start working on your individual goals with your peers. While we rotate through the private lessons schedule we will all hang out downstairs at Homegrown Cafe. Once you register for a 20 min session you are welcome to invite up to three people to share in your lesson (and cost) if you are all interested in covering the same dance topic, and of course you can register for more than one 20 min session that day. Register before July 10 so you can reserve a time that works for you on the schedule. It’s going to be great!
Cost: $20/session (Register by July 11, 2016) / $30/session (Register after July 11, 2016)

SUMMER WORKSHOP 2: PEER-REVIEW DANCE EXPERIENCE
In this workshop we will continue to focus on individual dance goals by taking you through a series of individual and group exercises that allow for peer-review based learning. We dance with each other all of the time, but don’t necessarily know what to say or take the time to share feedback that would allows us all to grow as dancers. After participating in this workshop, dancers will be able to identify their personal dance goals, offer constructive feedback to a peer, receive feedback positively from a peer, and self-assess their own dancing for focused progress. These skills will help you get more out of group lessons, open practice sessions, and will provide you with a little food for thought about your own dancing and where you want to take it. Sound confusing and possibly scary? Excellent. Some of you are looking for more challenges outside of our existing progressive lesson series and this is a good first step. It is also going to be great!
Cost: $25 (Register by August 7, 2016) / $35 (Register after August 7, 2016)
